Thoughts And Whatnots: This Is The Year Of

December has arrived!! And not that I want to rush Christmas, but, I’m soooo ready for Christmas to the point that I already have ‘A Christmas Story’ playing on repeat…annnd I really couldn’t be happier about it. *insert a cheesy ear to ear smile*

So each year end I like to think back and define my year in one word. I ask myself; whats something specific that stuck out, what did I learn, what did I achieve, where did I thrive? And with the one word, deem it the year of-

Picking up what I’m putting down?

2014 Friendships

This year I remember being very closely knit with all my groups of friends. I was actively seeing them all very regularly, if not daily for some, but always in contact. That’s just how life was back then, you somehow had time to do all the things. Jeeze, those were the good days and we didn’t even know it at the time. Luckily friends will always be friends even when life gets busy!

2015 Changes

Ah, ~change~ 2015 I made some of the biggest life changes. Starting with moving to Boston, rooming with 3 randoms from craigslist (God, I can’t believe that was once a thing), quitting my teaching job, and entering the corporate world. My life pretty much changed completely from then on and truly, I couldn’t have been happier with the journey.

2016 Love

This is the year I met Andrew. Need I say more? 😊

2017 Growth

This year I really learned to break out of my shell. With work (esp work!!!), with travel, with moving in with my boyfriend. So many things that were new, exciting, challenging, and major learning experiences all around. I really started to become me and really understood who I wanted to be.. Huge stepping stones and I’m so proud.

2018 Family

2018 was the year of family. In so many ways bad and good, good coming out of bad. I lost my grandfather, peacefully, from old age in March. My aunt 6 month later in September. And my dad 3 months later in December. Do not fret y’all this isn’t a sappy party, nor does it need to be sentimental (I’m not good with that) lol. Despite the outcomes the bond between the family just grew so tightly knit and I’m grateful for that ❀

2019 Travel

2019 in one word… traveling, definitely sums it up. I was gone pretty often, some twice a month, and a whole lot of in-between activities I was juggling too. A lot of it was for work, some for my own leisure but the continuous repertoire of packing and unpacking was my new routine. It was also the year Andrew and I picked up our lives in Boston and moved it to Colorado (next best decision after Boston)! It was an awesome yet tiring year.

Jan: DisneyWorld and Naples FL

Feb: Philadelphia PA, Toronto ON

March: Colorado (to find a new home πŸ˜ƒ )

April: Moved to Colorado and then Big Sur, Yosemite, & Lake Tahoe (amazingggg trip!!!!)

May: Vegas

June: Explored CO

July: Seattle WA

August: Los Angeles CA, Chicago IL

September: Explored CO

October: San Diego & San Francisco CA, Boston MA

November: Explored CO

December: Novi MI

The traveling went into 2020 with Boston MA in Jan and Redwood City CA in February and then quarantine happened.

2020 Wellness

This was the first year I intentionally chose what kind of year I wanted. So when I thought about what exactly my “wellness” was going to consist of, I, of course… wrote out a list. Something I do best (and enjoy a little too much). Things like; working on my skincare, taking care of my body [eating right, drinking water, exercising, resting when I’m tired], getting pampered, spending time doing things that excite me, that make me feel fulfilled and happy, finding new outdoor hobbies, self improvement, manifestation, the list went on and on. It was the year I was going to be selfish until I was back to feeling my best self again. And that’s just what I did. Declare it and make it happen.

2021 Prosperity

I’m now declaring 2021 to be the year of prosperity. I’m feeling motivated in all avenues of my life I’m ready to work hard and I’m bright eyed and bushy tailed about it. The plan is to prosper mentally, financially, and physically. 2021 IS THE YEAR OF PROSPERITY.

What do you want your 2021 to be the year of?
